That's a sticky one....  because with money comes power, and with power comes money... so they are tightly interwoven. And most of the times, people seek one for to get to the other and the sole purpose is that feeling of superiority, and the sense that you are above others and you're untouchable which I think is what corrupts. 

do you not think you can get power without money? and vice versa?

Che was poor throughout but he was powerful... no?

What about religous leaders in mosques?

What about philanthropists?

Power is currupt by default. Money does not always have to be. Power does not have to be in the form of head of government or something like that, he could be a school principle or a father. Once someone feels they have power over another person, then the corruptions begins.

Nelson Mendela understood the effect of power on a person's integrity. He decided not to run for a second term as president of South Africa, knowing what that power could do to him.
