tip "Technology is taking over human connection. We live in a world that's never been so wired, yet has never been so disconnected." Robin Sharma, author of "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari".

Just read a hilariously sad article on BBC "A couple have divorced after the wife saw the husband having online sex in the virtual world of Second Life. So how do avatars have sex?" No balance there for sure!

As the Libra in me always says, "it's all about the balance!" now on a more serious note here. being a technologist and a gadget freak of course. I love what technology can enable me and others to do, I think all this technology is connecting us even more instead of disconnecting us. Look at it this way, you already have your face-to-face colleagues, friends, family..etc. What the web, wireless and broadband can do is connect you with people that you don't have face-to-face access to, and there comes its power I believe.

I think it is true to a certain extent. Technology is meant to make our lives easier and give us more free time to engage in more human interaction, but we tend to abuse it.  I appreciate being able to email, sms, or IM my friends across continents, but when I do the with someone I can call up and go out for a coffee with then yes, technology has won.

I agree... it took me 3.5 years to wire my house and now that i have interent at home I am less inclined to leave the house.

I think that it takes a lot of effort to keep human connections alive.
