Noura, I would have to disagree with you, Religion is organized spirituality with a set of rules, teachings and prayers written in books. Spirituality, on the other hand, has no rules, a true spiritual is someone who believes in a higher power, doesn't have to be holy, just a "higher power". Most spirituals set their own rules and morals.

Myself, I'm not what you would call a religious person, but I do believe in God and my holy book in my own way, it's kind of in the middle between spirituality and organized religion, it's a bit complicated for me to explain it in a way you wouldn't misunderstand right now, because I'm not really in the mood to talk about religions! :P

I liked the subject and wanted to comment.

I dont think that you can seperate religion from spirituality or vice versa, they are in the "essence" the same, both revolve around the concept of an undefiened super power, some choose to call it god, others the universe (read the secret), karma,  mother nature,  and some see it in a cow!

None the less we are all guided by this "power" I think that is because we need to believe in something, it sort of justifies our existance and doings, our relationships, our fortunes, our choices, we as humens need bounderies to exist it makes us feel safe and grounded, it gives us an excuse to ignore what we dont know to cover it up "the unknown" (as its scary to think about it), it sort of answers the unanswered question without really answering them,,

Bottom line i think we NEED to believe in "it", whatever it is,, or we will go crazy...

Spirtual definetly.

I dont belive in organized religion or religous rituals. Some people may need them I feel that they are unneccessary for me.

Either way I think that religion and spirtuality are very personal things and private too. SO long as you dont hurt others or impose your views on them and vice versa each shoudl be left to worship/ interpert religion and beliefs seperately.

I don't cosider my self either, if by spritual i have to comply with a spritual teaching over the other...etc. I have my own value system that mainly cosists of trying my best not to hurt people around me with whichever mean possible. I don't know what happens to us after life, may be our soulds live on into other beings, maybe not. But mostly, i try to make the best of my life.
