tip When I feel the world is miserable and nuts, I listen to this song by Roberta Flack in- The First Ever I Saw Your Face and I feel that a world that has this voice cannot be all that bad. Lets talk about music.

There is a cheesy movie called “Music and Lyrics” and at some point the main female character says this about music “a melody is like seeing someone for the first time, the physical attraction, sex. But then as you get to know the person, that’s the lyrics, their story, who they are underneath. The combination of the two is what makes it magic.”

What do you think about that? Have you ever listened to a song and though “the melody is lovely, but don’t I wish the lyrics were different”? How closely do you listen to the song? Why are there some songs that are timeless and others time-full?

There is certain music, songs, and voices that truly transform us; the moment that I am done listening to them I am a new person. Nina Simon’s “Mississippi Goddamn” and “Wild is the Wind,” as well as Fela Kuti’s “Teacher Don’t Teach Me No Nonsense” are examples of that for me. You?

Alma I listen to the radio all the time and it somehow always reflects my mood. But if I were to choose a song to reflect who I am one of the top 10 on my list would be Book of My life by Sting. Amazing lyrics, and just a lovely lovely song.

Beautiful song alma :)

Talk about music, well for one, it's one of only two experiences in life that time can be frozen in (the other is scents you smell). You listen to a song and suddenly you are filled with the emotions of the era where you first or mostly listened to that song/music. Amazing...So yes, the world can\'t that bad with beatiful voices around!
