Wow! There you have it, the perfect oximoron- "friendly takeover," but this is not the question. I think it makes sense for them to takeover Yahoo- the bigger the better, right?

But on human level, it is quit insane that we will soon live in a world were all are words and thoughts are owned by one big corporation. I trully think that we need to be more aware of our purchasing habbits.

Way to go Microsoft!

This is my first, very quick reaction
Microsoft is a software company. Yahoo is a media company. I see a fit problem between Microsoft and Yahoo. There will be enormous integration challenges, many of them cultural.

MSN has been a mild disappointment for Microsoft, because Microsoft is run by software people, not media people. Why would Yahoo under Microsoft's umbrella thrive any better than MSN?

Also, Microsoft has never bought anything the size of Yahoo. Cisco Systems is experienced at acquisitions. Microsoft is not.

I think Microsoft's stock is a good buy without Yahoo. With Yahoo, I'm not sure ... although obviously, this would be a terrific deal for Yahoo shareholders
