tip The Allied Media Conference is taking place in Detroit, Michigan, US (alliedmediaconference.org). Do you think that media truly affects our perception of the world more than other experiences; such as reading or travel?

I would think conversations are interactions, if the form of the conversation is a live one then "air", "voice", "ear" are the mediums :) if it was taking place online (like i this one i think) then the internet & questler are mediums and so forth.

Hello. But what about conversations? Are these considered to be "media"?

Yes, as the famous McLuhan understanding "the medium is the message". Accessibility is the key here, if by media you mean Television and digital media then the accessibility rate is much higher than reading a book or traveling. Print media as newspapers is also very accessible, short and coincise. The short form of delivery, availability and accessibility differentiates one medium than the other. Digging deeper requires some discipline from the consumer of such media and a general quest for better forms of understanding.

Internet is by far the best medium created by man, although accessibility is still low worldwide; it combines choice, diversity in content and form (integrates video, audio and textual forms of information).
