tip I always thought that music and smells are the only tools through which you can freeze time. Whenever I hear certain songs, a flash of feelings and memories storm in and I feel like I am there in that moment again. Same with certain smells

This quest is about your favorite song of all times and what story does it carry along! It'll be great if you can find it's video on YouTube and post it in your comment...

I can relate to what you are saying... as for my favorite... I think is hard to anyone to pinpoint just one song... anyhow... my best of all times is not a song but a musical piece that just speaks who I am... it tells the story of me... my life... and my hope... it reflects me in so many different ways... I have blogged about it twice... it is called "On the Nature of Daylight" by Max Richter...

I love all his music... as for songs... I love Cat Stevens... he talks about self discovery and journey within yourself to find the best and the worst of you... songs like  "On the road to find out", "Wind", " Miles from nowhere", "Father and Son", "Wild World", "Sitting", "Can't keep it in", "Peace Train",  "if you want to sing out"... better stop... I love all his songs!!

Mad World - Gary Jules, I think this song is amazing, but it's not my fav, I can't pick only one, each song has it's own memory that makes it one of my favs! For example, i heard two songs today that reminded me of a friend of mine, other songs remind me of different situations! The list includes, Mad World (Duhh :P), The blower's daughter by Damien Rice, Elsewhere by Joey Tempest, Nightwish's Gethsemane, Dust in the Wind by Kansas (I like the Scorpions' cover more), Layla by Eric Clapton and many others by Guns n roses, scorpions, pink floyd, porcupine tree... etc the list goes on and on!!! :P

My favorite of all times is Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, it reminds me of the great times i had with a close friend of mine driving around and listening to the song summer of 2003 thinking of how empowering this song was into our lives and how everything was easier if you found other people sharing a part of you that is different than others whatever that was.

The version I am including here is my favorite too, their S&M album. The song was recorded at a concert while the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestra was playing. Brilliant music!

Hmmm I think you can add pictures to the mix too.

As for a favorite song there are so many in so many contexts it would be hard to choose.

The one I posted by the communards in the other quest is one I enjoy simple because I think its a great dance tune. Life for rent by dido because of the lyrics... I like a bird by nelly furtado because it is a song I really relate to... so many.

But I must say my memories are more about pictures and textures, words... music doesnt always trigger memories but rather reminds me of persons in general.
