What is lying anyway? How would you define a lie? What is a "white" lie? What of the saying "what you do not know would not hurt you"?

There is some truth to that: someone does not want to believe he is getting older and might need a hearing aid, or a lover wants to end a relationship with him, but he insists that if he gives more she’d love him again.

But I’ve come to learn that telling a lie to spare someone a hurtful truth is more painful than telling truth from the start. The hurt is now twice as much: the lie and the breaking of trust. If only we told truth much of the shit we live with from friends, family, politicians would be out the window and we would live happily ever after.

We're not being very honest if we say that "We want the truth", cuz in the end we won't accept a truth or a fact unless it's what we want, what i mean is,

it doesn't matter if it was a lie or not, weather it was a compliment, a relationship, a belief, or anything else , we don't really need to hear the truth, we just want to hear what we want to hear, what would make us happy, and the trick is actually convincing yourself that it's true even if it wasn't

i have noticed your tags- HIV, Health, Random Thought, etc. In which aspect of "One way or another, we all enjoy being lied to!!!" does your observation come?

Are you observing that the ad is misleading us, the we enjoy not being told by a partner that they have HIV, that the government is laying to us and we're ok with it, etc.

Can you elaborate on your observation?
